Creating Confusion

Pakistan ideology symbols

Pakistan is a state based on the ideology of pure Islamic principles. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Iqbal dreamt of a separate Muslim state in India and both of them were deeply conservative. Especially, Iqbal’s ideology was instrumental in forging Muslims to rise for carving out a separate Muslim homeland from the British Raj and Hindu dominance. Iqbal clearly stated in 1930 that Muslims would have to form a separate state of their own, at least, in North-Western India.

When Jinnah took the leading role in Muslim League’s affairs, Iqbal was the guiding force for him and even when Jinnah disappointed by dire Muslims conditions left India for London, Iqbal brought him back by urging him to lead Indian Muslims.

After Iqbal’s death in 1938, Jinnah served as a flag bearer of Iqbal’s ideology and took the mission forward urging Muslims to gather on a common platform of Muslim League.  In 1940 at Iqbal Park in Lahore, Pakistan Resolution was passed under the banner of Muslim league putting the demand for separate Muslim states in Muslim majority areas. Soon as the Resolution was passed, Jinnah visited Iqbal’s tomb for reciting Fatiha and said to his Secretary Matloob Ul Hassan that I have taken a step towards fulfilling Iqbal’s mission.

However, till 1946 he was in favor of creating a separate state under the dominion of India. He wanted Pakistan to be a state which can prove to be a practicing ground for Islam where Muslims can employ Sharia as a role model for all the people around the world but he was not in favor of separating it from the Indian Union.

However, Nehru’s rejection of Jinnah’s suggestion to give Muslims freedom within the Indian Union proved to be a fatal mistake, after this Jinnah hardened his stance and changed his way of politics. He started organizing Muslim league on a public level and opted for Popular politics. Jinnah’s charisma was so much that Muslims started following him in huge numbers and ultimately shined as a sole Muslim leader. He gathered Indian Muslims and in 1947 he completed his mission of establishing a separate Muslim land for the Muslims.

Jinnah started moving towards implementation of Sharia in Pakistan, by making a special department by the name of “Islamic Reconstruction”, the purpose of which was to impose true Islamic ideals by following Iqbal’s ideology. In 1938, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of State bank of Pakistan, Jinnah clearly stated that Pakistan would never allow Western Economic system to flourish in its land rather would opt for Pure Islamic Economic system.

A delegation under the leadership of Allama Shabbir Usmani visited different Muslim countries to invite them to give  Jinnah the pledge of allegiance as a Caliph but due to Egypt’s Shah Farooq’s ego, this never materialized. In an interview with a newspaper, Jinnah’s doctor  (Dr. Riaz) writes that during last days of his life he would always talk about the Rashidun Caliphate and how to transform Pakistan into a system based on Rashidun caliphate.

This was the Pakistan which Jinnah wanted but some pseudo-analysts would create Confusion in public’s minds by saying that Jinnah was secular and that Iqbal had nothing to do with the formation of Pakistan. We must reject such people and should try to fulfill Iqbal’s ideology and Jinnah’s mission to make Pakistan a state based on Islamic sharia and for that we need a spiritual movement for “Takmeel-e-Pakistan” from a “Mard-e-Azad”.
